In January 2002 Our Savior's became recognized by Lutherans Concerned (now Reconciling Works http://www.reconcilingworks.org/) as a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation, affirming a decision made nearly ten years earlier to be intentional about welcoming all gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual brothers and sisters.  The congregation's RIC ministry is growing, as is participation in the synod and national level RIC organizations.
Our Savior's is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America ELCA  There is a place for you in the ELCA. "We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Stewardship Campaign 2017

Sunday Morning Experience

Identified as one of our first initiatives, our strategic plan is shining the spotlight on the “Sunday Morning Experience”.  This includes evaluation and planning for all aspects of Sundays at Our Savior’s.  We know that Sundays are key to all the ministries of the church.  We gather - welcoming new folks and connecting with people we already know - , we worship and we are sent into the world.
GATHER - We assemble.  Re-membering the Body of Christ is a visible sign of the community’s focus and purpose.  We connect and communicate.  We welcome newcomers.  We prepare for worship. We enjoy coffee and treats.
WORSHIP - We worship God.  That’s why we are here!  In Sunday worship services we are RENEWED in Word and Sacrament, we REJOICE in praise and song.
The Sunday Morning Experience requires financial support for the place in which we gather and worship, for the people who lead, and for an expansion of the Sunday Morning Experience that is bringing something new and improved for our worship services and our environment. The goal is to attract and appeal to primary guests: people who live in Milwaukee’s 4th Aldermanic District, are millennials and young professionals with children. Phase 1 will begin with inviting those primary guests to a focus group to help us learn how to design our space and our worship services to appeal to this target audience.  Phase 1 will include some projects to get us started improving the Sunday Morning Experience:
·         Guest Services - New “welcome stations” for receiving guests at each entrance and printed materials to share with visitors will help us focus on Guest Services.  Cleaning, decluttering, new signage and newly designing our gathering spaces, including new paint and furniture, will be first steps in creating space that is appealing to guests.  $4,000
·         Worship Services - We will begin our planning for a new worship service by convening focus group(s) of millennials who represent our "primary customers", and engaging professional services for a lighting and technology plan.  These first steps will help us launch a worship service that will appeal to and resonate with the community. $2000
Let’s covenant together to provide the financial resources ($6000 Phase 1) to keep our Sunday Morning Experience vibrant and welcoming for guests and members alike...with particular emphasis on that which will attract and appeal to our primary guests.
The RENEW REJOICE campaign 2017 has set a goal to increase gifts and offerings by $80,000.  We invite your prayers for a generous response and ask that you prayerfully consider increasing your offering this year.  With your help, Our Savior’s will continue to praise God from generation to generation!
Marketing and Communications

Communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ is a mandate for all Christians. Sharing the Good News with each other and the community is vital to renewing the life of Our Savior’s. Inviting the community and informing visitors and members on what Our Savior’s has to offer is critical to our success. Last year, in a bold step, Our Savior’s undertook a strategic planning process which highlighted the need to update, improve and increase our marketing and communications platform to better communicate to our members and our target audience - young millennials and young professional families. Funding opportunities include:
·         New website: Studies show that the first place people decide whether or not to attend a church is to visit the church’s website. Our current website is outdated, clunky, and very limited in its offerings. An updated website that is easily navigateable with contemporary graphics and imagery with the ability to provide video and podcasts of worship services in a simple and effective way will help drive engagement and involvement. $2000 ·
New church logo:  A logo is key in branding the church.  It speaks to who we are and what we value. Our current logo is not reflective of our new direction and is not appealing to millennials and young professional families.  A new logo that is modern and reflects the church’s values is imperative. $500
·         New marketing collaterals: New marketing collaterals are needed to welcome, invite and communicate what is happening at Our Savior’s. New marketing materials include a welcome brochure, updated bulletins and church newsletter formats, stationary and business cards that reflect a modern look and include our new logo and mission statement. $500
Let us covenant together to provide the financial resources needed to keep communicating the Gospel to our community and the world.  One focus of our campaign now underway is to gather enough increased offerings to fully fund our expanded marketing and communications platform.
The RENEW REJOICE campaign 2017 has set a goal to increase gifts and offerings by $80,000.  We invite you to prayerfully consider increasing your offering this year. With your help, Our Savior’s will continue to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation.
